Camilo Cienfuegos, hero of the Cuban revolution, was born on this day in 1932. Camilo led the column that defeated Batista forces at the Battle of Yaguajay in December 1958 and, after the triumph of the Revolution in early 1959, he took on a position of authority in the Cuban Army. 

On the anniversary of his death every year, flowers are thrown into the sea to celebrate his life. Happy Birthday, Camilo.
