Sergio Leone's  "A Fistful of Dollars" starring Clint Eastwood in his first leading role as "Joe", the Man with No Name premiered on this day in Italy in 1964.

Leone thought that in order to make the film more appealing the Italian cast and crew should use pseudonyms. Gian Maria Volontè was billed as ‘John Wells’, Sergio Leone used ‘Bob Robertston’ (his father had directed films under the name ‘Roberto Roberti’).
