In celebration of today being World International Girl Child's Day,
I took a trip down the memory lane of women involvement in the history of Nigeria which is know as "The Ikot Abasi Women Riot" which is a story of how the late grandmother of Senator Udo Udoma was deeply connected to the end female slavery in Nigeria and of course, women were smuggled out of the country to European countries as slaves through a bridge called "The bridge of no return".

What deeply started as "Ikot Abasi Women Upraising" ended as "Aba Women Riot" against slave trade.
In my time of visit to the bridge of no return and the house of "Lord Lugard", I discussed the possibilities of bringing students of Biological Sciences for an Excursion visit.
However, the managements of the very much lucrative tourist attraction site approved my open discussions with them on the potence of our readiness as the vice president of our faculty.
Furthermore, as we celebrate this year's girl child day, my wish is for female inclusion in Governance.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD'S DAY.
