VALENTINES is SIN"
A lot of people are celebrating valentines tomorrow. They say that they are just celebrating "Love". Little did they know that this is one of the deceiving tactics of satan.
As a Christian or follower of Christ, is it okay to celebrate valentines day?
The answer is NO. Let's take a look at the history of Valentines and why it's a sin.
"THE HISTORY"
- It is a pagan tradition meant to worship their god 'lupercalia'
- Lupercalia is a festival of 'Sexual License'
- Sexual License is a ritual when a man will pick a name of a woman from a lottery and will be His 'Sexual Slave' for a year.
- Valentines is a lust-filled celebration
Why is it a sin? What are the reasons?
- Pagan is a devil worshiping different gods. The Lord Jesus commanded us not to worship other gods. There is only one Lord that we will worship: LORD JESUS CHRIST
- It is a lust-filled celebration. Anything that involves lust is committing fornication and idolatry. (Ex. Sex without marriage; Pre-marita Sex; lust, etc.)
- Valentines is not written in the bible. It is just a tradition.
So as a follower of Christ, we don't celebrate nor greet "HAPPY VALENTINES DAY" because there is no happiness in valentines day as women are abused.
With regards to gifts, there is no problem in receiving it. As long as when you receive it, you tell them and share them the love of Jesus. If you are going to give a gift, give it because you "want" to not because of valentines day. We can give gifts not just every valentines day but when your heart tells you to. Showing love to someone is not only during valentines but everyday because of Jesus!
So do not be deceived. Resist all kinds of evil. Let us all celebrate the love of Christ for all of us. A love that no one can exceed. Only the love of Jesus will set us free!
Abstain from every form of evil.
(I Thessalonians 5:22)
